Question Are low calorie diets bad for your metabolism?
Do low calorie diets f**k with your metabolism? I wanna try the ABC diet, but I just wanna know if it f**ks with the metabolism. Thanks. :) ps. dont tell me "dieting is such and such" or "the proper way to loose weight is such and such" cause thats not the question. I know about all that crap already.
Best Answer the abc diet is pretty good for keeping your metabolism up.. i mean, of course you wont have as much energy as if you were eating over 1000 cals a day, but this ones pretty good as far as low cal diets go the amounts of calories differ everyday so your body doesnt get used to it and your body doesnt go into starvation mode. its a hard diet to stick to, but if you can do it.. it really works.

Question i want to lose weight quickly and effectively I am 5'6 and 185, I am not a big fan o f diets?
i am not afraid of cardio, I have tried spinning love it, however my joints did not and my doctor has told me to stop, I took up running, which threw out my back, I am so tired of being overweight, I felt best at 125 but have not been that in over 14 years, before the births of my sons, I tired weightwatchers and nutrisystem and althought them had temp. results they were not satifsfy and much to difficult to stick too. any advice is welcomed.
Best Answer you need to scrap the idea of dieting, and instead learn how to eat the way a 125lb person does. Take one facet of your eating that is less than optimal, figure a way to fix it, do that for 3 weeks, then pick another facet to fix. you'll be building long term habits that way. Yes it will take a while, but it will work, and you'll be able to maintain it because by the time you get to 125 again, you'll just be used to eating that way. Some examples are instead of having a donut and coffee for breakfast, have a whole grain bagel with fat free cream cheese. Drop any sugar containing drinks. keep apples around to eat instead of a candy bar for a snack. Don't try and tackle everything at once, just one part every 3 weeks.
